time’s running out!

we officially have 3 school days left as a class. just three days of the ever so fawesome 113’09/213’10 left. *cues sad music* and everyone’s been sending around such sad emails in the class yahoogroup, i’m gonna cry reading them. and i have stuffs to say as well, but knowing how many emails y’all would have (i have almost 4000 in my inbox now, all facebook spam), the email’s bound to get lost somewhere, so i’m gonna dedicate a post to all my really awesome classmates whom i’ve spent half of my secondary school life with.

dearest two thirteen oh ten, also known as one thirteen oh nine,
we’ve been such a wonderful class for the past two years, even though we might have some low lows at times, such as… stuffs that i don’t wish to mention. however, there are some high highs as well, such as when we won practically all the inter-class humanities quizzes last year (hahas!) and of course, our third in drama nite just a few days ago. i guess those are just a few achievements our over-achieving class has achieved. but achievements aside (these aren’t too important, i guess), we’re one of the most bonded classes in the whole cohort. yes, there might be cliques, but the lines dividing cliques are so fine, we just cross these lines and get to know more about our classmates, and actually, when we do, our class grows closer.
113’09
it was our first year in RGS. first day of school: with my horrible memory, that day’s kinda vague. there were some snippets of it, here and there, but i couldn’t exactly remember everything, all the little details of it, and such. and the thing i remembered most clearly was that i was sitting beside meng xue in class. and we didn’t really know each other, kinda clicked over music and stuffs. (i guess i was a little quiet then…)  first week of school: orientation week was pretty fun, quiet me didn’t really get to know everyone that well. but meng xue and i totally bonded. hahas! and i guess she was the first to see my maaaaad self (hi bestie! if you’re reading this, feel honoured!) uhm… i can’t remember much, just the PSBs organising really fun games like “invaders” for all of us, and we had such a fun time screaming our lungs out during the game… oh. learning the raffles cheers? yeah. we were kinda shy then. but look what we’ve became after orientation camp? and one thing i could remember pretty fondly was when we first met ms chan. it was kinda hilarious. i can’t exactly remember her exact words, but these were the ones i put into e tiny little letter in e scrapbook i made for her this year, and in her biography (for english AA), “get back to your seats, i’m ms chan, and i’m your form and english teacher this year”.
okays. that was a glamour-ified version of what she’s said. actually, it was… “chop, chop, get your butts onto your seats. *giggles* i’m ms christie chan, and i’m your form and english teacher for this year” and she just burst into class with her high, perky, american/british/australian/i-have-no-idea-what accented voice. so we met our teacher (who always has such a fun time laughing and giggling at us. i’ll be quoting her loads later)
orientation camp was the last two days of our orientation week. i can actually remember the exact spot i slept in the hall. and i do remember that meng xue was wimmie then, and we shared her phone to listen to music at night. >< and on e second day (it was a saturday), we woke up to our first ever house meeting, which was kinda cool, cause we all got new house tees! >< i still do remember trying to figure out which side to turn to, when we were doing e combined house cheer (i still haven’t figure out the correct side till now)
and after the whole thing, we had to perform for our ‘rents, who were invited, and it was our first ever class effort, it was a mini drama nite i guess. and i do remember louise being the really fierce boss (her name’s “scarlet”) who was screaming at her employers. and xinhui being  little scarlet, who raised her hands, going “i know! it’s people-centered!” hahas. fond memories when we were little kiddies.
first year was pretty fun, i mean, why won’t it be? with some insanely maaaaad people in class like lea and gen and jean and miao (who first introduced us to potter puppet pals and helga fontinella), and a few kinda blur ones who has… ahem. SELECTIVE HEARING (hear me now, yenjean? i mean, daddy? *giggles*) and of course, someone who always bursts out… “who is the first quadriplegic in zero gravity?”, only to have the whole class going in a really bored and annoyed (sorry, ariel) voice, “stephen hawking…” O.O'” and coupled with a dash of fun craziness and an equally bizarre teacher who happens to think that “you guys are so bizarre!”, it’s the perfect formula for a really fun school year, with touches of *screams* hilarity and such. and then the first year of school was done. we were pretty glad we weren’t going to be separated to other classes (but something i, and i guess some of us, were pretty sad about was the teachers who left the school. like mdm rozanah, who was the one telling us some pretty scandalous stories during our lunch lessons. and mrs sia as well, who’s pretty caring as well. and then there was ms chan, who would not be our english/form teacher anymore…)
and then double… trouble? second year as 213 was pretty fun. i mean, after one whole year, we got to know each other better, and it was cool that we did. i never knew that little ms perfect would sleep in class… or that louise, the oh-so-awesome actress doesn’t like being hugged, or that yenjean was that overly mad. i can’t really remember the first day of school this year, but i think someone will. one of our dearest secretary LAST year who took attendance for the first day of school this year (thanks!) actually went up to ms tay and went, “are you debbie tay” and then… oops! got a stare from her. hahas! and i guess that’s when we were introduced to our lit/drama/english/form teacher for this year (that most of us, sad to say, have a love-hate relationship with. >< i didn’t say anything!!!)
hahas. this year was much much busier than the last. more tiring, more commitments and such. sometimes we just wanna go back to J Block and be the “little kiddies” that we used to be. but no. we’ve evolved into “kiddos”. *cringe* oh the stuffs that teachers call us. (quotes ms chan again) “teaching your class is like teaching LITTLE FAIRIES cause y’all move and run around with no evident reason at all!” *double cringe* little fairies? oh, okays. that seems… nice. thanks for giving me an idea of what to dress up as for halloween. oh wait. it’s over.
stuffs were sometimes, just hilariously crazy. and funny. i’ll always remember yenjean as the one who might need a hearing aid that can remind her to wear her shorts on drama days. and crystal for being the oh so organised, perfectionist class chair. and nicole not just for being a science genius, but also a kinda litty/dramatic friend as well. and xinyu as someone whom i can always unleash my inner-geekdom to (hahas! i guess y’all don’t know that i love playing WoW and FPS games huh? and i adore MMORPG games.) uh… Lea! for being my awesome term-two tablemate (we sat, for two years, as tablemates in term two.) who comes up with loads of weird, random and kinda coldly funny puns who reads loads of teen fantasy fiction. i mean, looooooads.
bwa! now, where was i, anyways. oh yeah. second year. i guess we were a little tired, and some of us drifted apart (some of us just can’t wait to claw our eyes out at someone else… but i don’t want to talk about this here)
i guess this year was pretty eventful. and we had kinda awesome teachers to guide us through. and even tho i do understand that some people do not exactly fancy ms tay and her way of teaching, but she’s actually pretty nice and all. just a little… idk how to describe it. moody? at times. but she’s actually taught us quite well (if you haven’t realised, she’s actually gone through quite thoroughly the passages that came out for e R&J Lit exams with us.)  oh, and i’ll remember her as the dramatic one, who acts really well, with loads of nice books to borrow, and has a not-so-secret crush on her robert patty.
so, we have only bout three days left as a whole class, and most of us, as zhang laoshi told us, won’t be in the same class as each other, and i’ve kidna calculated, if we split the whole class into 15 different classes, then there will be only bout 2 or 3 thirteeners in the same class. which is kinda sad. so thank you everyone in class, for making my first two years in secondary school such a fun experience that i never expected to have, and for giving me such fond memories that i’ll have a great laugh at, 20 years down the road.
love you guys, and as much as i would like to stay in the same class as all y’all (with the exception of two people… O.O) i know i can’t. so, good luck for the future, and KIT (keep-in-touch)! you can always facebook me. you know i’m always on facebook!

loads and loads and loads of love,
Rach3L (taaaaaaaay) 😀
